Welcome to my virtual lace exhibition. It is my pleasure to share with you my creative thought and lacework. Bobbinlace is a technique by crossing threads wrapped on at least five pairs of bobbins around pins by tracking a lace pricking card, which is fixed on a lace pillow. The threads are most cotton and linen, but I use a lot metalic. I was born in 1965. I live in Zagreb (Croatia). While I was 10 years old girl, in the world of lace (crochet, knitting, embroidery) my mother and grandmother let me in. I grew with some threads, needles, hooks, patterns… and my hobby had guided me toward the collection of many books and magazines. About 10 years ago a trip do Idria lace festival (Slovenia) discovered a new horizon in bobbin lace. A lady from Belgium made lace with a lot of bobbins. Wow! What a magic! I bought some books and materials for bobbin lace. And next was the start by the simplest lace. Slow - step by step. Bobbinlace is a way to express myself. So many ideas and just allowed my fantasy to flay free. My lace is colorful. My motifs are boats, goldfish, trees… Two years ago I began to design my own lace patterns - and paint bobbins, too. Since 2007 I have been having my own web site. In 1998 Donna Creativa decided to insert me in the Network for the International Creative Women's in Italy, www.donnacreativa.com Jewerly, decorative items, occasional gifts like goldfish, there is handful of ways how the lace be used and applied.
